Dr. Ashish Naik

Dr. Ashish S. Naik is a highly skilled and dedicated Orthopaedic Spine Surgeon with specialized training in Minimally Invasive, Endoscopic, and Complex Spine Surgery. Known for his precision, patient-centered approach, and academic excellence, he offers comprehensive care for patients with spinal disorders, trauma, and degenerative spine diseases.

Dr. Naik completed his MBBS from Lokmanya Tilak Municipal Medical College (Sion Hospital), Mumbai, followed by his Master of Surgery (M.S.) in Orthopaedics from MGM Institute of Health Sciences, Navi Mumbai. He also holds a DNB in Orthopaedics, further strengthening his clinical foundation.

To advance his expertise, Dr. Naik underwent multiple prestigious fellowships, including:

• ASSI 2-Year Fellowship in Spine Surgery at Ganga Hospital, Coimbatore, under the mentorship of world-renowned spine surgeons Prof. S. Rajasekaran and Dr. Ajoy Shetty
• Fellowship in Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery (FMISS) at Ganga Hospital
• Fellowship in Unilateral Biportal Endoscopic Spine Surgery (FESS)

During his training, Dr. Naik performed and assisted in a wide spectrum of spine surgeries, including lumbar discectomy, decompression, spinal instrumentation, deformity correction, and management of trauma-related and infectious spinal pathologies. His expertise lies in adopting the latest surgical technologies and minimally invasive approaches to ensure faster recovery, minimal scarring, and improved post-surgical outcomes.

Currently, Dr. Ashish Naik serves as an Assistant Professor in Orthopaedics at MGM Institute of Health Sciences, Navi Mumbai, where he mentors undergraduate and postgraduate medical students while continuing his active surgical practice.

An avid researcher and academic contributor, Dr. Naik has authored and co-authored several publications in reputed international journals such as JBJS Case Connect, The Spine Journal, Indian Spine Journal, and World Neurosurgery. His research includes groundbreaking work on lumbar disc herniation, endplate changes, and spinal instrumentation techniques. He has also contributed a chapter on “Growing Vertebral Column and Lung Development” in the acclaimed Springer publication Paediatric Scoliosis.

Dr. Naik has presented multiple papers and posters at national and international conferences, including the Asia Pacific Spine Society, Spine Week, and ASSI Annual Meetings, receiving recognition for his clinical insights and research excellence.
